Wandering Sydney (During the day!)

So today we pretty much had a free day. We started out with some talks about things like academics, health, and specifically what to expect when going to each University, but after that we had the whole day to ourselves, until dinner. But I’m always up for free food. The offer of free lunch was also accepted 🙂 Jenn, Yoo Yuong, and I decided to take the free ferry over to Cockatoo Island (used to be a prison) and check out the arts how there. After finishing getting distracted by shopping. Whenever I get a change, there will definitely be pictures of this one. The pieces were all crazy cool and wonderfully creepy. Being set up on a prison island that is supposed to be haunted probably helped a bit. But honestly, it was just super awesome. Many of the pieces were enormous and interactive with lights that came on or things that moved when you got close. It also helped that the weather turned a bit as we were there so we got the whole spooky vibe going. We didn’t get to stay as long as we would have liked but we had a dinner cruise to go to! So we snagged a ferry back and got all dressed up. Our ship was late and it got rather cold waiting but the cruise was fun. I won a lizard magnet! (someone else won a river rafting trip. my magnet is better.) Everyone was a little (lot) tired and not the most interested in Shenanigans but it started to drizzle a bit and I had fun running around in it and the city looked gorgeous from the water. Today we fly out of Sydney and head to Adelaide! So excited to get “home” and settle in! But I’m going to miss all the friends that I made who will be going to different places in Australia. Guess I’ll just have to go visit them! 🙂
